Eyes moist, broken heart
Lost, I gaze at the abyss
Engulf me I plead.
Living in a rut
I die a slow, silent death

Your take on the prompt was wonderful. I imagined a caged wingless bird and wrote this.
DeleteDramatic - perhaps too overtly, here a case of telling instead of showing sadness through description of nature
