Change

Justin took a deep breath and inhaled the fresh air as he walked down the deserted country path, no one in sight for miles around.

Walking on the dirt road, lined by trees was a stark change in comparison to the madness of the concrete and pollution of the city, he had spent every waking second of his life in.

Everyone had called him crazy for his decision to quit his plum job at a city Bank and settle down in the countryside to do the one thing he loved -write with no interruption.

He was so glad he had listened to his heart and taken the plunge, for who knew what the future held unless you took a chance.

The loud honking of the snarling traffic woke Justin and he sprung up from his bed cursing, "Another darn dream!"

    1. Hi Shail, thanks for visiting. I agree he should make the move. Most of us keep on wanting to do something but are wary of taking the plunge. Wrote this keeping that in mind. :-)

Congratulations on completing a decade at work!!!

I had one of my ex-project managers complete a decade of service at work so wrote the below poem to congratulate him on this momentous occasion.

Heartiest congratulations! A decade's time for a big celebration!
Ten illustrious years, For your glorious career we all cheer!
A decade of service, Your wealth of experience- priceless.
Countless challenges triumphed, Your boundless energy has everyone pumped.
Your inclusive leadership style, Makes everyone feel worthwhile.
Empowering us to excel, And chart paths novel.
An action oriented leader, Who is more than a manager.
A mentor and motivator, Whom to emulate we aspire.
Working with you has been truly inspiring and awesome, Best wishes for many more magnificent years to come!

Thank you doctor- A poem

Want to express gratitude to your doctor for everything he/she has done for you and are at a loss of words? Why not use instant poet's poem below to express your thanks?

Doctors are guardian angles, Incarnations of God on earth to cure people
Your tireless energy and positive countenance, Like a beacon to a sinking ship bring joy in abundance.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, You are the best! A class apart!
Words are too small to express my gratitude, For you have you as my doctor I feel blessed with eternal beatitude.

Eulogy for my Grandmother (Nani)

One of the hardest things a person has to do in life is write and give an eulogy on the passing away of a loved one. Last week, my Nani left for her heavenly abode and today was the prayer meeting on the Chautha (4th Day).

I'm sharing with all of you the eulogy in the form of a poem I wrote last night for her on behalf of all her grandchildren. I share this here because paying tribute to a dear one and speaking to a packed room full of people, while keeping your emotions in check is not easy, however is inevitable.

Thank you so much for joining us in prayer this afternoon to pay homage to our beloved Nirmal Khanna. A mother is more precious than any other person. A grandmother, being a mother twice over, is closest to her grandchildren. On behalf of her grandchildren whom she adored: Ujjwal, Kamakshi, Dhruv, Akshiena and Vyomi, this poem is dedicated to our iron lady with a will of steel.

Your loving arms Were our tranquil oasis Your radiant smile Exuded a halo …
